From being inspired by Andy Warhol and his use of different colours in the background of the same images, I decided to change the colour of the brickwall. I used photoshop to change the colour. Firstly I had to carefully cut Ella so she was separate to the brick wall so she wouldnt change colour only the brickwall. By cuttign her away and making her separate I created another layer so I could just change the background. By clicking on image adjustments on the tool bar and clicking on image colour I am able to change the colour.

Audience Feedback
Starlight Productions 04/01/2012
Today we took part in an audience feedback session where we gave other students the chance to watch and give feedback on a rough cut of our music video. Below are the responses that were given:
'Yes! I like the clever editing techniques and the continuous theme'
' Like the designs, experiment with more image'
'Emphasis being crazy even further through costumes and actions'
'Good use of markers very effective but start filming more clips anything and everything'
'Loved it like "bonkers" in stop motion and clothing pilling up. Good Job =)'
'Love stop motion and lip synching'
' Thinking about linking the pop are genre used in your covers into your video'
'More green screen of people mouthing lyrics to camera and develop cover into finished drafts'
'Use more backward stuff. (Rewind) and speed up stuff :)'
' When the music speeds up fasten editing'

Andy Warhol Inspiration for CD Cover
I researched Andy Warhol who was an American painter, filmmaker and printmaker. Warhol was the leader of an art movement called pop art.
I find his work really interesting due to the use of bright colours and I thought his use of colours related to our concept for our music video by using bright colours and being bonkers. Inspired by Warhol's work I thought we could incorporate his idea of having four images side by side and changing the colour of the background on each image. I thought this could create a really interesting and unique CD cover design idea.

Letter to XL
Below is the letter we sent to XL Recordings. Unfortunately we did not get a response from XL after sending two e-mails and this letter.
Dear XL Recordings,
We are A2 media studies students from West Hatch High School in Chigwell, and we are writing to you, to inform you of our choice to use Dizzee Rascals record, ‘Bonkers’, and to also ask your permission to use it, to create a music video for our A level coursework.
For our piece we will be creating and developing ideas, filming them and finally editing it to produce our final product. After many brainstorms and much discussion, we settled on ‘Bonkers’ as the mixture of both rap and the electro background music allows us to experiment with more interesting camera shots, angles and narrative as well as editing techniques that will help us to create a more exciting music video for our audience.
If you would like to have a look at the progress we have made so far and wish to see what we plan to include, please take a look at our blog at ‘thestarlightproductions.blogspot.com’. This includes updates as they happen and is in chronological order to allow for easy reading of our development as it unfolds.
So we would like to take this opportunity to ask your permission to use this record, if possible, and if there would be any restrictions you would like to put on the contents of our video, then please let us know.
Many thanks,
Starlight Productions

Research on Album covers
We have taken the time before shooting our picture for our album cover to research current Grime genre artist covers as well as artists covers that link to the theme and narrative of our song of 'bonkers' finding mad and unusual photos of the artists to come up with our own unique cover that would attract the right audience with the link of both styles of bonkers and grime.
These are current grime artists covers usually using a bold title and a close image of their faces.
These are artist covers and pictures which we can use to add to our own artist cover of "Bonkers"

The five channels which are most appropriate for our music video of 'Bonkers' are Clubland TV, Flava, Kiss TV, MTV and Smash hits. These are the music channels which play similar music to the genre of Bonkers which are rap, electro, hip-hop and house. Most people who watch the above channels are between the ages of 16-30, the people who would listen to the song Bonkers are also between these ages. Although most of the music channels play recent music video's they would also play big hits for instance Bonkers.
Some of the radio stations that Bonkers would be played on are Kiss 100, BBC Radio 1, The Hits and Choice FM. Again these type of radio stations typically play rap, electro, hip-hop and sometime house. The magazine our music video would typically be featured in is a magazine called Spin. This is a magazine that focuses on new music scene and the youth culture. Gives the edge on film, art, and music, including ska, pop, R&B, rock, hip hop, and rap. Wonderland is another magazine in which our video could be advertised. Dizzee has already been on the front cover of the magazine, shown below.

The first white label release of "I Luv U" was made on Dirtee Stank, released when he was 16,although both of his albums and their subsequent singles have been released under XL Recordings. The label's MySpace page states that the ethos of the company is "about bridging the gap between indie, majors and the street. Stank is the way forwards". The label's alternative logo is a picture of flies circling faeces – when asked why this logo was chosen, Dizzee stated that it was the "streetest thing I could think of".

Questionnaire
During our presentation we handed out questionnaires to our class to get there feedback on our ideas or to see if they had any other ideas for our video. The questions we asked are as follows
- Are you Male or Female?
- What are your initial comments on our ideas?
- Would you usually listen to this type of music by similar artists?
- What age group do you think our music video will appeal to most?
- Would you want to watch our music video if it came on a music channel?
- What would you expect electro pop? alternative dance music video's to include?
- Do you think our video will be successful?
Powerpoint 6
Finally, we brought up our brainstorm to show everyone how our ideas have developed and to show more detail of each section of the mise-en-scene and narrative. It helped to explain our idea fully and in more depth to help them to fill out their feedback sheets that we collected at the end.
Powerpoint 5
The word cloud helped us to explain the main points of the lyrics and the main ideas of our music video. We explained how we will express these topics in our music video and how they help to outline the 'bonkers' side of our video and the song.
Powerpoint 4
We placed the mood boards on seperate slides so they could be made bigger and clearer to see. It was also easier to talk about the costume mood board seperately to that of the narrative mood boards and we could explain more clearly the details of each one and what we intend to do for both costume and the other mise-en-scene.
Powerpoint 3
We then went on to talk about our inspiration for the video. We explained our reasons for choosing this as inspiration and how the use of editing techniques and different costumes within this video have given us ideas for our 'bonkers' video. We also explained how the dream like world in this video, goes with our idea of 'Bonkers' and how life outside of reality can be like this.
Powerpoint 2
This slide is on the genre characteristics of the music genre. It explains the typical setting, costume and music associated with grime music videos and what would be expected to appear in one. We explained how our music video is going against these characteristics and how we are going to do this.
Powerpoint 1
This is the powerpoint presentation we have created to showcase to the rest of the class. We have also created a questionnaire for the members of the class to fill out with comments on our idea and any changes or additional comments they might wish to add.
This was the first slide on the genre of our music video. It gives some background information on when and where the genre originated from and other artists that use this type of genre in their music.
