Filming

Today we spent 2 hours filming the remaining parts to our music video. Before we went filming we sat down and wrote down what we were going to film in each of the spaces we had left in the music video. We filmed us dancing and we re filmed some parts to improve what we had already done. We also took a variety of photos for the inside of our CD cover. Overall we felt the time we spent filming and taking pictures went well because we work together well as a team and have brought ourselves closer to finishing within the deadline.

Group Meeting

Today we came together as a group to discuss how our CD cover and magazine poster designs are looking and any ways we can improve these. We will be taking a few more photos tomorrow to improve our CD cover design as two of our photos we originally planned to use, do not look as good as we had first thought.
We will also be filming some more footage for the second half of our video and playing around with some new ideas for some lyrics and have come to a group decision that some of the editing techniques we already have in place in our video can be used again in other places of the music video.

Group Meeting

Today we discussed some more ideas for editing and possible new footage. We filmed some more ideas around the word bonkers using the stop motion technique and have come up with an idea similar to that of the ending in the film 'Love Actually'.

Starting in this video at 3'04 is the style we intend to use, with the screen splitting to 4 then 8 then 16 and so on, in time to the beat of the music.

We have also taken pictures to use on our CD cover and on our magazine poster. We took many more than we needed to and from different angles and shots to give us a wider variety of pictures to choose from when it comes to editing. We will hopefully not have have to re-shoot them like we did with some of our footage for the main music video.

Group Meeting

Today we had a group discussion about the audience feedback and ways that we can link these comments into our music video and continue editing with these ideas. We also discussed some new ideas that may work well with the idea of our music video and will be trying them out today to decide which ones we prefer and which ones may not work as well.

Filming - Group Meeting

Today we filmed the second half of our music video in the forest and on the road. We met early in the morning again, to give us more time to film and to give us a better chance at getting good natural light. We played around with different camera shots and angles in various parts of the forest, to give us more footage to choose from when we come to edit it together. Ella was in charge of bringing the camera and tripod, Alice in charge of any extra lighting, Holly in charge of props and extra parts of costumes that are needed and Georgia was in charge of getting make up props that we needed. We will continue to edit this footage and will also try some different editing techniques that will hopefully make our music video look more interesting.

Group Meeting

We have had another group meeting today to discuss what we need to get filmed tomorrow and what each of our individual responsibilities will be. We have decided to meet at the filming location at 9 in the morning to give us more time in the day to complete our filming as much as we can. Holly will be in charge of getting the camera and tripod there, Ella will be in charge of getting make-up props to location, Georgia will be in charge of bringing lighting and Alice will be in charge of props and extra parts of costumes for our characters.

Group meeting

Today we had a group meeting. In the meeting as a group we discussed further ideas for our music video and discussed what else needs to be filmed and where. We had the idea of filming people doing leap frog's over each other we would then speed it up and then we would reverse it and also trying out some stop motion techniques the levels of water and food colouring in a row of glasses. We also talked about our idea's on our CD cover.

Group Meeting

After filming yesterday we feel we have enough footage for the first minute of our music video. Although we felt we didn't have enough range of ideas to make our music video really interesting. Therefore we brain stormed ideas and decided to use four glass cups and fill them with coloured water by using food colouring and change the levels of water so when we edit we can speed it up. this will make it look like graphic equalisers that move up and down to the beat of the music like on dj booths. We also wanted to use a lot of balloons to throw up in the air, pop and blow up. While filming yesterday we came up with the idea to blow glitter into the camera but this wasn't successful as the glitter was white so when watching back on footage it wasn't visible. We decided to use this idea but use darker coloured glitter such as purple or blue so it would be visible when filming.

Group Meeting

On the 23rd of November we had a group meeting which Sir also participated in, we discussed the shot list and our date we would begin filming. We still haven't decided who's bedroom we will be using therefore we each will take a picture of our own bedrooms today and tomorrow and decide on where we will begin filming. We also watched over our storyboard and added any of our own faults to how we would change things around on the day and the extra shots we would have to take.

Meeting 5

Today we had another meeting. Now that we have discussed the feedback we had from our questionnaire we decided to begin to practice some editing techniques using final cut. We found this practicing editing task very helpful as it gave us a feel for what we will be doing after our filming. We also discussed the audience profile we will be creating, to show the type of person that our music video will appeal to.

Meeting 4

After showing our powerpoint presentation to the class and collected in the questionnaires, we had a meeting as a group to discuss the feedback given by the class. We discussed the ideas given by some people and what they believe could be changed or kept the same. We have also analysed what the audience believe to be the target audience and whether it is a familiar music genre that people would listen to or not. We have decided that not many of our ideas need to be changed and that our song choice and ideas are good and appeal to most people within our target audience of late teenagers, early twenties.

Meeting 3

Today we had another group meeting to create our powerpoint presentation to showcase to the rest of the class and get feedback into what they think about our idea. We also began to place our ideas on our timeline and discussed our ideas further about when and why they should appear where they will in our video. By starting the timeline we feel our idea is really starting to come together and fall into place.

Meeting 2

After the first meeting where we were researching female artists and songs by them, we had a second meeting where we came to a decision that the artist didn't necessarily have to be a female, just because we are a group of females. We decided on the song 'Bonkers' by Dizzee Rascal, as the song and lyrics allow us to experiment with both filming and editing to create an interesting music video, so we are now starting on the task of writing a letter to the record company to ask them to use the song.

First meeting

On our first meeting as a group we worked on our shortlist and researched female artists. We typed onto youtube the artists video to the songs that we were interested in. As we listened to the songs were brainstormed ideas.
