Youtube to MTV

Last week as a class we went to Bricklane in london to RichMix education centre. The first presentation was in the morning and was taken by Pete Fraser on the history of music videos and the codes and conventions for different genre music videos. the second presentation which was in the afternoon was held by Liz Kessler and Corin Hardy who work in the industry of music video and work for production companies. They showed us example sof their own work and discusses how the conducted it and the problesms they encountered and asked for our feedback.

History of music video;
  • Last the Length of the song and sometimes longer

  • Needs to be visually memorable and worth repeating

  • Micheal Jackson was the break through artsit for black artist he was the only black act playe don MTV due to the demand for 'Thriller'
