Introduction

Im Alice Piner Im an A level Media student at West Hatch High School. Media really interests me especially film and production. My favourite genre of film is thriller and fantasy. I recieved an A at GCSE media and a C at AS level. My main skills are the creative side as im also an A level art student therefore my stengths are visual such as mise en scene. Although I have gathered many skills from my AS level course such as editing, filming, analysing scenes and the theories.My other interests are fashion, art and sports.

This is a video of Love the way you lie by Eminem and Rihanna its based on domestic voilence. I find the video really clever and interesting the way they have captured the relationship between the couple to fit well with the lyrics. The video has been edited really well by the use of quick cuts which fit perfectly with the actions and lyrics. I especially like the different angles used in eminems piece as the mise en scene isn't as interesting compared to the couple's shots. A range of shots are used such as low shoots, high angle, the camera has been placed on a trolley low in the grass making the audience feel as though they are some type of animal witnessing the scene. Fire is used alot throughout the video to symbolise danger and anger which relates to the concept of domestic violence. The house is set alight and also the couple become set alight near the end, this effect has been edited very well as the fire looks life like. the lighting used throughout the house scene is natural lighting making it seem realistic although the sunlight shines at certain times creating an interesting porfessional effect. The three main scenes used throughout the video is eminem in the field, Rihanna in front of the burning house and the couple in the house although only three scenes are used the way they have been edited by quick cuts and placing the camera on the trolley makes the video interesting to watch.
